video Instagram and Vine

In the wake of Instgram now being able to make videos, I would like to pose the argument that this is in fact, NOT a threat to Vine. It is however a threat to a little known app called Viddy which I have been using for the past couple of months. Instagram videos is like the combination of Vine and Viddy. The ability to shoot stop motion and run filters through it. THIS.IS.A.BREAK THROUGH. And I freaking love it.

Yes, I am totally going to use both. Why? Simple- Vine is 6seconds and challenges one to be creative with lighting, timing, and content. Instagram videos are 15seconds and with the filters, give a different twist to “creative outlet” .I think theyre both unique.

And like all creative outlets, should be used sparingly. Don’t go vomiting all your mundane life activities both on Vine and Instagram. Because let’s be honest, we’re not all that interested. And while we’re on this, let me say that using Instagram/Vine/Facebook/any social media too much without creative content or meaningful substance makes you undesirable. There. I said it.

Will Instagram and Vine be abused? Sure. Will some people have that first world problem of Vine or Instagram? Yea… But I think both are great apps with different abilities and features, and if used correctly, will open the door to endless possibilities. And with that, I say Vine on! And Instagram on!

Birthday and childish antics

There are few greater things in life than having dinner with your childhood friends. Friends that are still legitimately your closest friends. Together we experienced the innocence of childhood, the awkwardness of teen years, and now we are slowly embracing the responsibilities of adulthood.

I could go on and on about how this particular night, in which we celebrated one of my dearest friends 20th birthday, was probably one of the most special nights of our lives. 

We do this thing where we pay a certain amount of money for food and space and then completely obliterate the place with our loud, obnoxious, (hilarious I might add) conversations. 5 girls. talking over each other. It's.the.best. We are so easily entertained it's ridiculous. We did this at Coupa Cafe. We did it again at Elephant Bar. and We will probably continue this childish tradition till the day we die. 

We've all known each other for 10+ years so the likehood of us getting rid of each other is very slim. We are  so comfortable with each other that we say, do, scream certain things other girls would find completely offensive. #bonding 

anywho... I know I dont deserve such great girl friends. None of us are quite sure how we are all really still friends/ stayed so close because our lives couldnt be more different. But the Lord is gracious and kind to keep us together. and for that, I am thankful.
