the weaved bag bird 31
Yesterday, I hit three...that's right. THREE Baskin Robins. Three scoops each store. Nine scoops all together. I paid a total of $.31. Other people gave me their hard earned 91cents for two stops. Considering that detail (9 scoops of ice-cream for $.31), I'm gona have to say last night was a SUCCESS.
(You probably think I threw up afterwards. No, only cuz I ate 6 scoops all together. The other three were not wasted. A happy human being enjoyed the product of that thoughtfulness...even if that thoughtfulness came in a bowl of half eaten ice-cream)

Spiderman
I watched the first SpiderMan last night with Elanor. I forgot how good it was. “With great power comes great responsibility”…makes me think of this song
When the goblin’s alter eager was screaming at him, it reminded me of the demons constantly haunting Christians. The demons are always trying to lead our train of thoughts to sinful acts and beckon us over and over to pursuit it. But then again, we don’t need the demons to lead us towards evil for our human nature wants us to be bad. We naturally tend toward sin. Only by the grace of God can we ever overcome evil.
Another quick note about superheroes- I recall this interesting podcast by ThisAmericanLife about superpower/ superheroes (http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/178/superpowers )and basically what it’s about is superpowers and how people would use a superpower if they had one. Growing up with characters such as Superman, Batman, and Flash, I (and I know it’s cultural) expect super powers to always be used for good. However, the survey found that people would generally choose a super power for their benefit and would rarely use it for “good”. The podcast discovered that while people would say they like the idea of using superpowers for good, in reality, they would use the superpowers selfishly. Invisibility to shop and steal any item, flying to dodge air fares and gas prices, super strength to hurt anyone who angered them, and maybe even x-ray vision to feed their lust. We would want to benefit ourselves as much as we can. The survey confirmed what the Bible clearly states- “The heart is desperately wicked. Who can know it?” -Jeremiah 17:9 We are fall human- “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”- Romans 3:23
We are not “basically good” as we would like to believe. We are sinful and corrupt.
We enjoy superheroes so much because we like the idea of being saved- of having someone there in case something happened, and we seem to only enjoy it in fiction. However, Christ is the real Saviour for He saved us from the ultimate – Hell. All superheroes are modeled after Him.

the long self-anticipated blog post
On December 12,2010 I turned 18. EIGHTEEN. From that day on, I was viewed by the United States of America government as an "adult". I had wanted to journal every day to keep tabs on every day of my adult life till I died. (well, when I died, someone would have to write into my journal- I DIED.) But I have not journaled every day of my adult life and honestly, I dont think I ever will. I wish I did.
However, I have kept up with my twitter account. (quick note- some people who are reading maybe thinking- "umm...why does she tweet but she deactivated her facebook? how hypocritical!" Rest assured, I will post my reasons of deactivating my facebook in essay form. Coming to a blog post SOON!) Twitter is actually really fun. I can express my thoughts, emotions, share a quote and not have a list of comments below that I have to keep with. Along with that, I get to see whats going on in some people's lives. Oh yea, and I get a laugh out of Lord Voldemort's tweets and appreciate John Piper's thought provoking tweets...Lecrae is cool too. Well, all that to say... I am finally on it. I am finally blogging. A hurdle I had to overcome before blogging was not being sure to make a blog super personal or make a blog dedicated to updates. With experience from Twitter, I have figured out I can do BOTH and more! a little of this, a little of that. Basically, I write here as if I had an audience. I assume that one day all this well-written blog will be published into a book. *PSYCH*
This is only the beginning. (If this was audio, you would hear a deep, dramatic manly voice.)
Basically, I'll write. and write. and write.
If you read, then good for you! I recommend a cup of coffee, a sense of humour, and an ear for "i really dont feel like correcting my grammar" kind of writing.
I hope to improve as a writer. But also have something to look back on.
Which is the biggest reward of Journaling, Twittering, Blogging. It's like keeping track of your history and you get to look back on it.
yay!
